UCA open for Clearing now
UCA has already begun accepting enquiries and offering places for September.
If you have your results, have taken a gap year or want to switch to a creative degree, then UCA's admissions team are ready and waiting to help you study at the same university as Karen Millen, Tracey Emin, Zandra Rhodes and range of Oscar and BAFTA winners.
Sarah Simms, Head of Admissions at UCA, said: "Contrary to popular belief, Clearing starts much earlier than A-Level results day. We can offer places now to anyone who hasn't got a place at university if they have already received their exam results.
"By calling early, we can help take the stress out of finding a course at University and let you know your options as soon as possible, whatever your results.
"Even if you haven't applied for a university course through UCAS, we can still help you start a degree in September so there are plenty of options available. And if you don't receive the results you were expecting, we also offer pre-degree and four year courses which include a preparatory year so that you can enrol in 2015.
Helen Welsh (pictured above) joined UCA's BA (Hons) Television Production course at Maidstone TV Studios through Clearing in 2013.
Helen said: "I attended an Open Day in August to find out more about the course and what the university had to offer. After speaking to the Head of Television Production, I knew I wanted to join the course."
During her first year Helen worked on a series of exciting projects, including gaining work experience on ITV's Take Me Out and BBC Sport Relief's Top Dog.
"These experiences will help with future employment and I've learnt so much about creating TV shows just by being around professionals," said Helen.
"I've written, directed and produced my own short film and a 10 minute documentary, I've auditioned and hired actors and a composer and I've also submitted one of my films to Film Festivals worldwide with the encouragement of my Course Tutor, which I never thought I'd be doing as a first year student."
"My advice for students going through Clearing is to find out as much as you can about the course and the university to make sure they are a good fit for you. Speak to the course leader or get out to the university if you can to meet with them - this was a great chance for me to showcase myself. I would also recommend sending your show reel, or something you've created, alongside your application."
Sarah added: "My top tips for Clearing would be for applicants with their results to get in touch with the Admissions Team now - they're the ones who have the information and experience to talk you through your individual circumstances."
"For those who haven't received their results, be pro-active and check out which universities offer similar courses to the ones you've applied to, as a back-up, and investigate the Clearing process so that you're prepared if you do not get the results you want."
