The University for the Creative Arts (UCA) is opening its doors to the public for its annual Masters Degree Show.

The next generation of artists, architects and designers will display their work in a free exhibition at UCA Canterbury from 7-12 September 2012.

It will showcase an eclectic mix of work by Postgraduate students from UCA's Kent campuses at Canterbury and Rochester, including Fine Art, Photography, Jewellery, Fashion, Architecture and Design.

Terry Perk, MA Fine Art course leader, said: "This exhibition is the result of an intensive period of study. The variety of media and conceptual approaches that the MA fosters is amply demonstrated in the work on display, which ranges from narrative video to performances, and painting to site-specific installations.

The MA Show provides an excellent opportunity for the public to view the great work that is being produced by students in Kent and also provides a fantastic chance for them to spot an artist that could be the next Damien Hirst or UCA graduate Tracey Emin.

Tom Beg’s projection mapping for LV21 Highlights of the MA Show include Breathless 2 by Fine Art student Hau Yan Luk whose 'suffocated fan' is brought back to life by an inflating and deflating plastic bag.

MA Design for Performance & Events student, Tom Beg, will be exhibiting photos and videos of the projection mapping installation he created for the inside of decommissioned ship LV21 at Gillingham Pier, which was featured in Design Week.

Artist Hermione Allsopp's sculptural works defy their humble origins as she turns charity shop junk into new works of art. Pieces, such as Pot Cluster, are resplendent in both their beauty and acquired uselessness.

Pot Cluster by Hermione Allsopp RIBA award winning designs will also be on show from UCA's Canterbury School of Architecture.

The exhibition at UCA Canterbury's New Dover Road campus is open weekdays 9am-5pm.
