Artists in conversation at the Crafts Study Centre

The Crafts Study Centre at the University for the Creative Arts is currently home to two artists working in very different mediums.

Dance artist Laila Diallo and craft artist Helen Carnac have been invited to work side by side in the same studio as part of a residency project called 'Side by Side'.

The two artists have been asked to consider a series of questions that stem from the processes behind and leading to making. They have been asked to investigate the journey towards making, which may result in the presentation of a final piece at a later date.

Members of the public are invited to meet the artists at a special event on Wednesday 27 June from 5.30pm to 7pm. Laila and Helen will be joined in conversation by Siobhan Davies and Professor Simon Olding of the Crafts Study Centre. They will touch on issues of making, sharing, collaborating and expression across their different mediums.

Tickets are £4 and include a glass of wine. To reserve a place, call 01252 891450.
