In mid April 2014 the Farnham Art Society will hold its 67th Annual Exhibition at the James Hockey and Foyer Galleries at University for the Creative Arts in Farnham. "I've got a real sense of three-dimensional geometry. I can look at a flat piece of fabric and know that if I put a slit in it and make some fabric travel around a square, then when you lift it up it will drape in a certain way, and I can feel how that will happen." Vivienne Westwood

An exhibition of work by 2nd Year BA (Hons) Fashion students, who were encouraged to make themselves aware of drape practices through historical and contemporary study of the subject and through the practical experience of working on the stand to inform the development and realisation of innovative fashion statements.

This multi-media installation uses different scales, forms, textures, the representational and the abstract to explore figurative associations of human skin. Numerous objects, photographs, tactile constructions and video provide a multi-sensory experience, which encourages not only interaction but also reflection and contemplation about a most important and complex living membrane.

International Foundation and Graduate Diploma in Art & Design study trip, February 2013
The exhibition of 96 sketchbook pages serves to celebrate the impressive cultural diversity and developing practice of a cohort of students from twenty four countries.

The Black Jacket

February 20 - March 21 2014

BA (Hons) Fashion Promotion students were give four weeks to interpret a version of a black jacket into a series of styled images communicating 'identity'. With a band or musician acting as their muse, students used song lyrics as inspiration for both looks and location.
