Product Design is a creative and innovative subject combining new and exciting ideas with technologies for everyday life. Product designers are international in their approach. They learn to design specific product applications to respond to our changing world. You are challenged with specific design briefs identifying a particular user interaction for different scenarios within different communities and cultural contexts.
Key study topics include:
- Drawing and presentation skills, design software tools and modelmaking
- User interaction scenarios to develop products for sustainable market growth
- 3D Design CAD with project development work in specialist materials workshops
- Technology innovation and designing/making of prototypes
- Integration of future-based systems and design applications
- Drawing, digital technology and the exploration of materials and techniques
- Professional experience
- Develop a design identity for future career
- Projects supported by design consultants and other specialists
- Final year exhibition.
