UCAS code

How to apply
If you live in the UK or an EU country, you should apply via UCAS (the University and Colleges Admissions Service). Applications to UCAS must be made electronically either through the UCAS website or through your school or college using the UCAS Apply system.
If you are from outside the UK or the EU and only applying to a course at UCA you can apply directly to UCA using the online application forms or via your in-country representative. If you are applying for more than one university in the UK you should apply via UCAS. Please see the international apply pages for more details.
UCAS makes background information available to us when they send us your application - this is called contextual data. Some universities will use this data when they make a decision about offering you a place, but at UCA we do not use this when assessing your application. This is because we invite all Home/EU applicants to an interview or to send in a portfolio of work to support your application.
When to apply
The deadline for UCAS applications is 15 January each year for entry the following September. We give equal consideration to all applications received by the application deadline. We accept applications after the deadline but please be aware that places on some courses may be limited.
If you are thinking about applying to UCA and need more information please contact the UCA enquiries team on +44 (0)1252 892883 or email enquiries@ucreative.ac.uk.
If you have already applied to UCA, please contact our admissions team on +44 (0) 1252 892960 or email admissions@ucreative.ac.uk.
What happens next
UCAS send you an acknowledgement and forward your application to the University. Once you have completed your UCAS application you can track the status of your application via UCAS Track.
When we receive your application we send you an email which includes your login details for the applicant portal. This is where you are able to monitor the progress of your application at the University.
You can expect to receive timely updates on the applicant portal in respect to your application with admissions decisions being made as quickly as possible.
Entry requirements
All applications to courses are assessed against the course entry requirements and criteria, irrespective of age. Applicants are considered on a case by case basis and by their ability and readiness for university study.
For most courses, we require a portfolio of visual work to provide evidence of practical and visual ability appropriate to the course you are applying for. For general portfolio advice, please visit our portfolio advice page. For course-specific entry requirements, please refer to the relevant course page.
Your interview
The majority of our course provision require portfolio submission, generally submitted at interview. However, not all courses interview applicants due to the volume of applications received. Sometimes admissions staff decide to offer a place by looking at your application form, or after setting you some extra work, which you send to us. Where interviews are conducted, these are relaxed and informal occasions when you can ask us about the University and your chosen course.
If granted an interview, this will form part of the selection process in addition to your portfolio for deciding whether or not we can offer you a place. Interviews normally take place between December-June and we try to give you at least 10 days notice.
If you have already applied and have been invited to an applicant day/interview, please log in to the applicant portal to view important interview information.
Where an interview is not an appropriate selection tool i.e. EU and International applicants, you will be required to submit additional work. In these cases, further details will be communicated via the applicant portal (after your application has been received).
