Sophia Phoca
Sophia Phoca graduated in Fine Art, Film and Video from Central St. Martins and then received an MA by thesis in Film Studies from the University of Kent. She is currently working on her doctoral thesis at UCA on artist's film and video and curatorial practice.
Phoca has been course leader for Video Arts Production at UCA Maidstone since 1998. Previously Sophia taught at BA and MA level in various UK Universities including Goldsmith's College and City University.
Phoca recently published an essay on curatorial practices in 'Issues in Curating Contemporary Art and Performance', Edited by Dr Judith Rugg and Michèle Sedgwick (2008) on an exhibition she co-curated of European film and video with Tate Modern (2004).
